Tuba CD's
"If ever there was a convincing advocate of the tuba, it's Les. His playing reaches out from the stage, picks you up by the scruff of the neck and says 'listen to me'." Stephanie Hughes (BBC Radio)
"The player who most reminds me of John Fletcher today is Les Neish." Bramwell Tovey (Music Director, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra)
The latest recording from the group of Salvationist bandsmen known as Fuoco Brass features as their guest Leslie Neish, of Foden’s Band. He presents five contrasting solos, demonstrating both his dexterity and his beautiful tone across the full range of the instrument.
Amongst the highlights are the title track, Kevin Norbury’s “Badinage”, Andrew Mackereth’s “Swing Low” and the band’s rendition of Kenneth Downie’s “Music of Thanksgiving”.
This disc is a must for all bass players as Oystein Baadsvik is in sparkling form in a disc of classical repertoire. Be amazed at the control of the instrument along with Oystein's dynamic range in a demonstration of virtuoso bass playing. As well as enjoyment, this is a good CD where the listener can discover the art of making bass playing sound easy.
